Pamela Pullen
Global Aviation Emergency Response Manager | UPS Airlines
Pamela Pullen is the current chair for the Aviation Emergency Response Organization (AERO), serving in this capacity since December 2019. Based in Louisville, KY, she is the Global Aviation Emergency Response Manager for UPS Airlines. Her responsibilities include coordination of the UPS Family Assistance Support Team (FAST) which is comprised of approximately 225 members. Within this role, she is responsible for recruiting and training new & existing members, develop & maintain the emergency response plan, implement a response effort if needed, and ensure all legal requirements are in compliance with Transportation Disaster Assistance Laws.
After the 2010 accident of UPS Flight 06 in Dubai, Pamela supported the family assistance team during care team selections and served on the repatriation committee to bring the lost crew members home.
With an extensive 36 year background in UPS Human Resources and Occupational Health & Safety, Pamela has supported various districts and work groups within the Air Region including, Flight Operations, Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering, Hub and Ramp Operations, as well as support functions for Information Technology, Finance, Customer Service, Brokerage, and Industrial & Plant Engineering to name a few.
In addition to her regular duties, Pamela has been coordinating efforts for COVID-19 as the Air Region Healthy at Work Officer. She has worked closely with Occupational Health & Safety and the operations teams to help mitigate risks for employees. She has been the direct contact for governing agencies such as Public Health and OSHA for compliance. She worked with Plant Engineering and various groups to develop and implement proactive approaches and physical safeguards needed to keep over 19,000 employees safe.
Pamela is a member of the A4A Emergency Response Committee and frequently networks with others in the aviation emergency response community. She has completed NTSB Transportation Disaster Assistance Training and routinely participates in training courses and drills to gain a greater acumen for for emergency response.
She is a graduate of the University of Louisville in Occupational Training & Development. She is happily married with one son and both a step-son & step-daughter. She enjoys all outdoor summer activities including riding bicycles & walking, as well as travel, and watching movies.
